Description
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)
FOR SPACE PLANNING AND ENGINEERING SERVICES
The City of Long Beach, acting through its Department of Community Development,
desires to engage the services of one or more professional space planning and
engineering firms to provide consulting services on an as-needed basis. Areas of
responsibility will include architectural, space planning, structural, construction
management, mechanical and electrical engineering, and move management services.
If your firm is interested in providing the services described above, please submit five
(5) copies of your proposal containing the information requested in the attached
exhibits by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2003. The proposal should be addressed
to Michael Conway, Real Estate Officer, City of Long Beach, Department of Community
Development, 333 West Ocean Boulevard, 3 rd Floor, Long Beach, California 90802.
Submit your proposal in a sealed envelope with the words Proposal for Space
Planning Services written on the outside of the envelope. It is important that the
information outlined in the Scope of Work (Exhibit A) be read carefully. The City will
retain all submitted materials.
In order to assist us in evaluating the proposals, please submit information describing
other similar work assignments. The City will give important consideration to relevant
experience when making the final selection. Also, please submit any additional facts
you consider proper and necessary to adequately describe your professional
qualifications.
Should a contract be awarded to your firm, you must comply with the City’s model
agreement. All insurance requirements listed in Exhibit D must be met.
The City of Long Beach reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. This RFP does
not commit the City to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of
a proposal in response to this request, or to procure or contract for any services.
